Tyler, The Creator and Converse have added a new chapter to their ongoing 1908 Series. On July 16, the pair released the Converse 1908 Pro Leather alongside new leather colorways of the 1908 Jogger, continuing a partnership that began with brand endorsements starting in July 2017.

The 1908 Pro Leather reworks the ‘70s basketball classic with a wider stance, broader eyelet rows, thick laces, and a rubber toe cap stamped with an oversized star. It arrives in “White” and “Amazon” colorways, with debossed GOLF le FLEUR* branding on the tongue and lateral side, priced at $95.

The new leather 1908 Jogger colorways release the same day in black and white for $115, swapping the silhouette’s usual nylon-and-suede build for full-grain leather.

The drop builds on the archive-driven program the pair launched in 2025 with the Naut-1 boat shoe and Coach Jogger, and Tyler previously performed at the Grammys in February wearing the 1908 Jogger and 1908 Bronco Boot. Both new styles are available globally through Converse and GOLF le FLEUR*.

For Tyler, Converse has been a consistent creative home since 2017, evolving from Chuck Taylor collabs into the archive-focused 1908 Series. Beyond Converse, Tyler’s endorsement portfolio includes a partnership with Bottega Veneta, alongside his own GOLF le FLEUR* label.

The archive-mining approach mirrors a wider trend in sneaker collabs this year: A$AP Rocky recently took a similar path with Puma, reviving the brand’s Suede 94 for a new campaign.

Converse has built its endorsement roster across music and fashion, working with names like Ross Lynch, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Alex Consani.

Takeaways

This isn’t a one-off hype drop; it’s the fourth stop on a multi-year roadmap Tyler and Converse have been building since 2025, and that consistency is becoming the story itself.

Rather than chasing a single viral colorway, the 1908 Series treats Converse’s back catalog like a design lab, letting Tyler rework silhouettes most sneakerheads had forgotten existed.

Does a slow-burn, archive-first strategy build more brand loyalty than splashy one-off collabs? How much does Tyler’s GOLF le FLEUR* aesthetic now shape Converse’s design language versus the other way around? Could this steady collaboration model become the new industry standard over splashy single releases?
