Ice Spice has dropped back into Bikini Bottom. Epic Games released “Bikini Bottom Ice Spice” on Fortnite’s Item Shop on July 24, 2026, part of Wave 2 of the game’s SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration and her second skin in the game.

The outfit is inspired by the 2025 film The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, with Ice Spice dressed in a floral swimsuit fitting the underwater theme.

Players can grab the Bikini Bottom Ice Spice & Patrick Star Bundle for 3,400 V-Bucks, or buy items separately, and the set is set to leave the Item Shop on August 2, 2026, at 8 PM ET. The rapper first appeared in Fortnite during the Chapter 2 Remix season in November 2024.

The drop leans into Fortnite’s habit of turning musicians into permanent in-game fixtures, a strategy that recently brought Olivia Rodrigo’s chart-topping album into the game through its own Icon Series tie-in.

Epic has also been widening its cast of faces beyond music, most recently tapping conservationist Twitch streamer Maya Higa for a Sidekick-focused “Cuddles and Chaos” campaign.

For Ice Spice, the skin lands during an active endorsement stretch. Just months earlier, she starred in Wendy’s viral “Ice Spicy” campaign, sparked by a real-life fast-food dust-up. Between fashion, fragrance, and now a returning gaming presence, her brand calendar keeps expanding.

The Icon Series and related campaigns have featured Olivia Rodrigo, David Beckham, Maya Higa, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan, alongside long-running licensed crossovers with franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants and the NFL.

Takeaways

This is less a one-off endorsement and more proof that Fortnite treats certain artists as recurring characters rather than one-time guests.

Ice Spice’s return, two years after her Remix Pass cameo, shows Epic sees lasting value in artists tied to a specific aesthetic, in this case, her 2022 song “Bikini Bottom,” which makes the SpongeBob pairing feel less like a random licensing mashup and more like a natural callback.

Does bringing back past Fortnite collaborators (rather than always chasing new names) build more durable in-game “franchises” for Epic? Could Ice Spice’s SpongeBob ties (dating back to her breakout single) make this crossover resonate more than a typical celebrity skin drop?
