Miami singer Mariah Angeliq has a new label home. Pitbull‘s independent label, Mr. 305 Records, announced the signing Thursday, pairing two acts built around Miami’s Latin music identity.
The deal lands with Angeliq’s new single, “A La Que Fui,” a reflective track about starting over. Barbara Rivas, Mr. 305’s head of label and artist development, said the new chapter will allow fans to connect with a more personal side of the artist, known as “La Princesa de Miami.”
Angeliq, born Mariah Angelique Pérez to Cuban and Puerto Rican parents, began her career in 2018 with the single “Blah” after signing with Gold Star Music and Universal Music Latino.
Her breakout came with 2019’s ‘Perreito,’ a double-platinum hit that charted in 16 countries and passed 400 million streams. She followed with the ‘Taxi’ collaboration alongside Guaynaa and her debut EP, ‘Normal,’ in 2020, the same year she joined Italian singer Elodie and producers Takagi & Ketra on the international hit ‘Ciclone’, before reaching a global audience with 2021’s ‘El Makinon’ alongside Karol G.
Mr. 305, co-founded by Pitbull and CEO Robert Fernandez, has continued to expand its roster this year. Colombian singer Matt Paris partnered with the label in 2026 and already teamed with Angeliq on the single “Le Gusta,” while producer duo Play-N-Skillz joined the label’s stable of Latin hitmakers.
The signing fits a wider pattern of 2026 label movement. Audrey Nuna signed to Republic Records ahead of her single “superHuman,” Josh Rouse joined New West Records alongside his album “Museums and Women,” and The Sways signed with Rounder Records off viral streaming success.
Takeaways
Pitbull built Mr. 305 as a home base for Miami’s Latin sound, and landing an artist with Angeliq’s chart history (not a developing act, but a double-platinum hitmaker) signals that the label wants proven streaming power, not just potential.
Pairing the announcement with new music, rather than just a press release, also shows both sides betting the momentum starts immediately rather than waiting for a rollout.
Does “A La Que Fui” mark a real sonic shift for Angeliq, or a continuation of her reggaeton-trap-R&B blend under a new logo? How much of this deal is about Mr. 305’s Miami identity matching Angeliq’s own “La Princesa de Miami” branding?
