Audrey Nuna has signed to Republic Records, Variety exclusively reported, ahead of her new single “superHuman,” which drops at midnight ET this Friday.
It’s her first release under the deal and a shift away from Arista, the Sony Music label that put out her 2021 debut EP “a liquid breakfast” and 2024 project “Trench.”
Nuna worked with Grammy-winning producer Cirkut on “superHuman,” which she describes as a “portal” written during a fast-changing chapter of her life. The track also marks her second collaboration with Valorant, following “Toxic” earlier this year, and serves as the official anthem for VCT Pacific Stage 2.
The signing caps a breakout stretch for the 27-year-old, who voiced Mira in Sony’s “KPop Demon Hunters” and helped make “Golden” the first soundtrack single to top the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs charts at once, a song that went on to win this year’s Oscar for best original song.
She’s currently on a festival run, with stops booked at Japan’s Summer Sonic, Austria’s Frequency Festival, and Belgium’s Pukkelpop through the end of the month.
Nuna’s move adds to a busy year of movement across Republic’s roster. In May, Bea Miller signed with Republic Corps, the UMG label group that houses Republic Records, Def Jam, Island and Mercury, marking her return to a major label after years running her own imprint.
Nuna’s deal is limited to the label side. She stays with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for worldwide representation and with Soft Serve for management, keeping the rest of her team intact as she builds out this next era.
