Chappell Roan Named Face of MAC Cosmetics’ Iconic Viva Glam Campaign

Celebrity Name:Chappell Roan
Brand:MAC Cosmetics
Deal Type:Brand Ambassador / Charitable Campaign Face
Announced:June 9, 2026
  • Chappell Roan is the face of MAC Cosmetics' 2026 Viva Glam campaign, co-creating a three-piece limited-edition lip collection (Unnatural Red Head, Roan of Arc, and Damnsel) dropping in stores June 11.
  • 100% of all Viva Glam collection sales go to charity, supporting sexual, racial, and gender equality causes globally; MAC's Viva Glam program has raised over $545 million since 1994.
  • MAC is also donating $300,000 directly to Roan's own foundation, The Midwest Princess Project.
  • The campaign, shot by legendary duo Inez & Vinoodh, casts Roan as a French Revolution-era warrior empress, following her earlier 2026 MAC Sephora debut campaign alongside Gabbriette and Quenlin Blackwell.

MAC Cosmetics has tapped Chappell Roan as the face of its 2026 Viva Glam campaign. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, already a MAC global brand ambassador, will front the brand’s Viva Glam charitable initiative, which donates 100% of sales of its lipsticks and lip glosses to organizations championing equality worldwide.

Roan co-created three signature shades: Unnatural Red Head, a cherry-red matte inspired by her hair; Roan of Arc, a glossy plum lipstick-balm hybrid; and Damnsel, a purple-red shiny gloss.

The collection arrives in stores June 11, and over the years, MAC Viva Glam has raised more than $545 million. MAC is also donating $300,000 to Roan’s foundation, The Midwest Princess Project.

In fronting the campaign, Roan joins a storied lineup that includes RuPaul, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Kim Petras. Roan had already fronted MAC’s Sephora debut campaign earlier this year, alongside Gabbriette and Quenlin Blackwell when MAC debuted at Sephora U.S. in February.

Beyond MAC, Roan has also partnered with Fortnite for brand endorsements and licensing deals starting in February 2026.

On the music front, she is currently on her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things tour and received two Grammy nominations at the 2026 ceremony (Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance) for her hit single “The Subway.”

This isn’t MAC’s first time aligning with bold pop royalty. The brand’s Viva Glam history reads like a hall of fame, much like when Doja Cat fronted a major MAC campaign, with celebrity ambassadors including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, and Ariana Grande having fronted the campaign over the years.

Takeaways

This partnership is a masterclass in brand-talent alignment. Chappell Roan isn’t just a spokesperson here; she’s a living embodiment of everything Viva Glam was built on: fearlessness, queerness, and unapologetic self-expression. MAC didn’t just book a celebrity; they locked in a cultural moment.

The $300,000 donation to Roan’s own foundation adds genuine weight to what could otherwise read as a standard beauty deal, signaling that this partnership goes deeper than lip color.

With Viva Glam’s roster now including Roan alongside legacy icons like Lady Gaga and RuPaul, does this signal MAC is consciously chasing a new generation of queer cultural icons for the long haul?

Roan has been vocal about protecting her authenticity, does a charitable campaign like Viva Glam make commercial partnerships easier for artists like her to accept publicly?
