Prada has unveiled “Simple Stories,” its Fall/Winter 2026 campaign, and this time the house handed the camera to an Oscar winner. Hunter Schafer and Troye Sivan headline the project, joined by Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Chen Haoyu, under the direction of Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins.

Shot inside a countryside villa, the campaign pairs cinematic stills with a short film exploring domestic intimacy, small gestures, and the blurred line between private life and performance.

Creative director Ferdinando Verderi leads the project alongside Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, whose FW26 collection reworks classic tailoring through aging, distortion, and deconstruction.

For Schafer and Sivan, it’s a reunion with Prada. Both fronted the house’s Days of Summer 2025 campaign together, and Schafer has served as a Prada ambassador for several seasons, having also modeled the brand’s Symbole handbag line. She currently stars in Euphoria‘s third season on HBO Max and has Tom Ford’s Cry to Heaven and Blade Runner 2099 in the pipeline.

Sivan, meanwhile, marked ten years of his debut album Blue Neighbourhood this year with an anniversary reissue and has been teasing a fourth studio album on social media.

Beyond Prada, Schafer’s endorsement portfolio includes Adobe, Calvin Klein, and Gentle Monster, and she’s also the face of Mugler’s Angel Elixir fragrance. Sivan’s roster spans American Eagle Outfitters, Calvin Klein, and Cartier, among others.

The rollout lands weeks after Bella Hadid fronted Prada’s Days of Summer campaign and Benedict Cumberbatch and Letitia Wright starred in Prada’s Re-Nylon 2026 push.

Jenkins, for his part, described the collaboration as grounding and true to Prada’s creative spirit, and is already developing fashion-adjacent films on Ronnie Spector and Alvin Ailey.

On Prada’s side, the house’s recent ambassador bench includes Bella Hadid, Benedict Cumberbatch, Letitia Wright, and Emma Watson, a sign Prada is investing in long-term, multi-season faces rather than one-off campaign stars.

Takeaways

Prada isn’t just casting famous faces anymore, it’s building a director’s roster. Tapping Barry Jenkins for his first-ever fashion campaign puts “Simple Stories” in the same lineage as the house’s past collaborations with Wes Anderson and Yorgos Lanthimos, treating the ad less like a lookbook and more like a short film.

This also confirms Schafer and Sivan have graduated from one-off campaign faces to recurring members of Prada’s circle, following Hadid, Cumberbatch, and Wright as evidence the house is now leaning on repeat, trusted talent over one-season stunts.

Is hiring Oscar-winning directors becoming the new luxury flex, replacing star-studded campaigns of years past? Could Schafer’s repeated Prada appearances signal a bigger ambassador role down the line, similar to Hadid’s beauty deal?
