Tobtok is the stage name of Swedish DJ and electronic music producer Tobias Karlsson. He started gaining attention around 2012, when he released his breakthrough debut single, which reached over one million streams online in the first few weeks after its release. Karlsson, born and raised in Uppsala, grew up listening to Michael Jackson and indie bands like Chic, while simultaneously playing in heavy metal bands. He became a very in-demand remixer and he collaborated with artists like Years & Years and Icona Pop, besides always working on his original singles. In 2014, he released his debut EP “Higher” which featured a collaboration with Emil Héro. During the next year, he released a remix of Tracy Chapman’s iconic 1990s anthem “Fast Car”, which was a total success, and it went gold in Australia.
