Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and composer Peter Peter, born Peter Jones, has signed with Range Music, the music management division of Range Media Partners, for management.

Originally from Chicoutimi, Québec, Peter Peter signed with the Audiogram record label in 2009, releasing five solo French-language albums over the next 15 years, with his 2024 record Éther earning a longlist nod at the Polaris Music Prize.

The signing follows his debut as a screen composer on Heated Rivalry, a Crave and HBO Max series that became a global streaming phenomenon. Peter Peter was personally invited to score the show by creator Jacob Tierney after Tierney spent much of pre-production listening to Éther on a loop.

For the score, Peter Peter earned two 2026 Canadian Screen Award nominations: Best Original Music (Drama) and Best Original Music (Original Song) for “It’s You.”

He joins Range Music under manager Jeff Jernigan, who launched Range’s composer division about a year ago after coming over from Kraft-Engel Management.

Range Music has been steadily building its composer roster. The company recently added talent like Jack Dylan Grazer and Fola Evans-Akingbola on its broader talent side, signaling the firm’s aggressive expansion across entertainment verticals.

“Peter is a natural music-driven storyteller,” Jernigan said. “His music for Heated Rivalry is so integral to what has made the show a massive success, it draws you in from note one. We’re thrilled to have Peter join Range Music’s growing composer division.”

Takeaways

This signing is a big deal, and not just because of the paperwork. Peter Peter was a critically respected but niche Francophone indie artist for over a decade. Then one viral TV show changed everything.

His Heated Rivalry score didn’t just complement the series, it became part of the cultural conversation. Tracks like “Rivalry” and “It’s You” racked up millions of streams before the official soundtrack even dropped, which is practically unheard of for a TV composer’s debut.

For Range Media Partners, this is exactly the type of signing that validates the composer division’s strategy: find artists who blur the line between personal artistry and screen storytelling.

Jeff Jernigan has built a roster where every name carries serious award credentials. Adding Peter Peter, who already has Canadian Screen Award nominations and the momentum of a global hit, fits that blueprint perfectly.

The bigger picture? The music-for-screen world is evolving fast. Showrunners like Jacob Tierney are now curating composers the same way directors curate cinematographers, based on artistic voice, not just technical skill. Peter Peter’s story proves that a well-placed album can function as the world’s best audition reel.

Could Heated Rivalry season 2 turn Peter Peter into one of TV’s most sought-after composers? Will signing with Range Music push Peter Peter toward Hollywood film projects?
