British actor Sebastian de Souza has signed with Verve Talent & Literary Agency for US representation in film and television, with agent Ryan Muckenthaler taking the lead.
De Souza is set to co-star opposite Elisabeth Moss in Hulu’s upcoming legal thriller Conviction, which heads into production this summer. The show comes from Emmy-winning creator David Shore and follows a criminal defense attorney whose career-defining murder case unravels into blackmail and moral compromise.
De Souza first gained wide recognition as Matty Levan in the cult British series Skins before building an impressive résumé with roles in The Borgias, Medici, Normal People, and The Great. More recently, he starred in the Netflix romantic comedy The Life List opposite Sofia Carson, which held the number-one spot on Netflix’s film chart for three consecutive weeks.
He follows his new agent Ryan Muckenthaler to Verve, who previously brought Omari Hardwick to the agency. Verve also recently signed Bridgerton star Luke Newton.
Up next, de Souza stars opposite Andrea Riseborough and Richard E. Grant in The Queen of Fashion, and will also appear in the BBC and BritBox revival of Tommy & Tuppence. He continues with Waring & McKenna for UK representation and Anonymous Content for management.
Takeaways
De Souza’s move to Verve arrives at a pivotal moment, he’s heading into a high-profile Hulu drama opposite one of TV’s biggest names and has a feature film lined up with an Oscar-caliber cast.
Following his agent Ryan Muckenthaler from UTA to Verve is a strong signal of a trusted long-term working relationship, the kind of loyalty that tends to pay off.
For Verve, landing a rising British multihyphenate with transatlantic appeal (writer, director, actor) fits neatly into their 2026 expansion story.
Could Conviction be the project that elevates De Souza from acclaimed supporting player to true leading man in the US market? With Verve now holding Luke Newton, Omari Hardwick, and now De Souza, is the agency deliberately building a premium drama roster for streaming?
