  • The signing marks the first new roster addition for Weird Fishes since its August 2025 launch.
  • RAGEFLOWER continues with Select Music for booking representation in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Her breakout singles "Desk Job" and "Control" have earned heavy rotation on triple j, and both headline shows in Australia sold out in advance.

RAGEFLOWER, the Sydney-based alt-rock artist born Madeleine Powers, has signed with Weird Fishes Music for management. Aidan McLaren will lead representation. RAGEFLOWER retains Select Music for booking in Australia and New Zealand.

This is the first new signing for Weird Fishes since its August 2025 launch. McLaren, co-founder alongside Joe Miles and Rhett McLaren, built the company on the back of a decade-plus at UNIFIED Music Group, bringing over a roster that includes Boy & Bear, The Dreggs, and Pete Murray.

RAGEFLOWER’s debut EP INFINITE HIGHS, END OF TIMES dropped in August 2025 and earned strong industry traction, with singles “Desk Job” and “Control” getting heavy triple j support.

Both of her headline shows in Australia sold out, and she has logged notable support slots alongside The Temper Trap and The Darkness. She performed at BIGSOUND 2025 in Brisbane.

The deal follows a wider pattern of rising artists locking in serious management infrastructure early, much like Magdalena’s worldwide deal with Metropole and Jules Walcott’s signing with Blunt Agency.

Takeaways

This is a significant moment for both parties. For RAGEFLOWER, landing with the team behind Boy & Bear and The Dreggs means she’s stepping into a management structure built for breaking Australian artists on the global stage, not just maintaining a local profile.

Weird Fishes didn’t take long to find their next bet after launching in August 2025, and choosing an emerging artist rather than an established act as their first new addition says something about their appetite for building careers from the ground up.

With triple j momentum, two sold-out headline shows, and festival credibility already on the board, RAGEFLOWER enters this new chapter with real leverage.

Can Weird Fishes replicate the international touring success of The Dreggs with an early-career signing like RAGEFLOWER? Is Weird Fishes quietly building the most exciting indie management roster in Australia right now?
