  • Rising Melbourne indie-rock artist Lucky has signed with Ground Control Touring for representation, with agent Timmy Hefner leading the deal.
  • Lucky continues her partnerships with Select Music for AU/NZ booking and Base Level One for management, completing a full international industry team.
  • The signing comes off the back of Lucky’s breakout BIGSOUND 2025 showing, viral single “Lady Beetle,” and the April 2026 release of her debut EP Biting Heels.
  • Ground Control Touring recently also added Dan Reeder and Peggy Reeder to its roster, signaling a continued push for authentic indie voices.

Lucky, the Melbourne-based indie-rock artist from Staghorn Flat, Victoria, has signed with Ground Control Touring for representation, with agent Timmy Hefner leading the deal. Lucky continues with Select Music for AU/NZ booking and remains with Base Level One for management.

The move marks the next major step in Lucky’s rapid rise. Her BIGSOUND 2025 appearance turned heads industry-wide, the ABC labelled her an artist to watch for 2026, and the conference led directly to a label deal with Community Music alongside her AU/NZ agency deal with Select Music.

Her single “Lady Beetle” landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Global playlist, hit triple j high rotation, and trended three separate times on Shazam across Australia. “Houston,” another standout, arrived with a music video helmed by ARIA Award-winning director Kyle Caulfield.

On April 10, Lucky dropped her debut EP Biting Heels, a nine-track collection anchored by singles “Lady Beetle,” “Houston,” and “Adored,” and is currently on the road supporting MAY-A on her national Australian tour. Her own headline run kicks off June 12 in Brisbane, then Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide.

Ground Control Touring, the boutique New York and LA-based agency founded in 2000, has been active on the signing front. The agency recently brought Dan Reeder and Peggy Reeder on board for representation, and with Lucky now joining the fold, the agency is clearly doubling down on emerging indie talent with international upside.

Takeaways

Lucky’s team is now structured for a genuine international push. Securing Ground Control Touring, a boutique agency with a long track record booking credible indie and alternative acts across North America, while keeping Select Music locked in at home is a smart, layered play. It gives Lucky a foothold in the US and global touring market without sacrificing the local momentum she’s built so quickly.

What makes this signing especially notable is the timing: Lucky doesn’t have years of recorded output behind her, she has one EP and a string of singles that hit. That’s the kind of buzz-to-signing trajectory that typically takes longer to materialize.

The fact that Timmy Hefner, a longtime, well-respected agent within GCT’s roster, is personally taking her on says something about the level of confidence around her live potential.

Could a North American touring circuit be the next move for Lucky in late 2026 or early 2027, and if so, which markets would she crack first? With Biting Heels only just out, is a full-length album already in the works, and how will GCT’s booking power shape the rollout?
