Pop-punk veterans The Ataris have signed with Sound Talent Group (STG) for worldwide touring representation. The deal covers all territories excluding Europe and is handled by STG agents Matt AndersenRandy Salcedo, and Jason Parent.

The announcement was part of a broader batch of new signings at STG. Seven additional acts: A Lot Like BirdsBurwood LandCryo GeyserDead LandsDownswingMidwinter, and Thomas Erak and the Ouroboros, also joined the agency’s roster in the same announcement.

The timing couldn’t be better for The Ataris. The band, formed in Anderson, Indiana back in 1996 is preparing to release their first studio album in nearly two decades.

Bassist Mike Davenport confirmed the record is finished and expected to arrive in March or April 2026. Their most recent single, “Car Song,” dropped in May 2025 and previewed what fans can expect.

The Ataris rose to fame with post-2000s pop-punk hits like “In This Diary”“San Dimas High School Football Rules”, and a genre-defining cover of Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer.”

After extended breaks, the band found renewed energy post-pandemic. “Covid served as a reset — the band returned with a mission we haven’t felt since our youth,” Davenport told Punk Rock Philosophy.

Now signed and festival-ready, The Ataris are booked for Welcome To Rockville, where they’ll share a stage with My Chemical Romance. This STG deal puts solid touring infrastructure behind what looks like their most ambitious comeback yet.

Takeaways:

This signing is more than a business move, it’s a statement of intent. The Ataris aren’t riding nostalgia. They’re re-entering the industry with a brand-new album, a major festival slot, and now a world-class booking agency backing their every move. For a band that quietly powered through a 19-year album gap, that’s a bold, calculated, and exciting play.

STG’s decision to take on The Ataris, alongside seven other acts in one sweep, signals aggressive roster growth for the agency in the alternative/punk space. It’s a clear sign that independent agencies like STG are increasingly competing for legacy acts and rising indie talent at the same time.

Can The Ataris recapture their early 2000s cultural relevance with a brand-new album in 2026? Would you attend a tour where The Ataris play a classic album front to back?
