Yellowbirds is a pseudonym for the solo project of the producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Sam Cohen. Born as Samuel Benjamin Cohen in Houston, Texas in 1979, the artist released his first solo album in 2011 under the name “The Color”, after the split-up of his former band Apollo Sunshine. He toured the U.S. with a backing band consisting of drummer Brian Kantor, multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman, and bassist Annie Nero. In 2013 he released a next full-length album called Songs from the Vanished Frontier. In 2015 Cohen released his next album “Cool It” through the Easy Sound label, and in 2019 The Future's Still Ringing In My Ears went out through 30th Century Records. Cohen has also produced albums for emerging artists like Kevin Morby.
