Latoya Nontokozo Buthelezi (who’s popularly known with her online moniker Toya Delazy) is a South African singer and songwriter who was born on February 5th 1990 in Mahlabathini, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She is the granddaughter of Mangosuthu Buthelezi and great-granddaughter of Zulu composer Magogo kaDinuzulu.
Toya rose to fame for her debut album Due Drop which was released in 2013. The same year she was nominated for Best International Act at the 2013 BET Awards and also took the title of Best Pop Album and Newcomer of the Year at the 2013 South African Music Awards. Her sophomore album Afrorave Vol. 1 appeared in 2021. She appeared on Moonchild Sanelly’s 2015 album Rabulapha! and also on Sam Interface’s 2020 DJ Mix Bleep Mix #137.
