Snakehips are a British electronic music duo consisting of Oliver Lee and James Carter. Although they are both from the U.K., they first started playing together in Hong Kong around 2012, while they were working on separate music projects. They began releasing remixes of singles like “Groove On” by Willie Hale, or The Weeknd’s “Wanderlust”. They gained gradual notice and by 2013, when they released their debut original single “On & On”, they already had a solid fanbase. Their particular blend of R&B and electronic music soon became a hit and they began a series of collaborations with artists like Chance the Rapper and Tinashe. In 2016, their single “Cruel” which featured a collaboration with Zayn Malik, was a huge success, entering the Top 40 Singles Chart in several countries including the U.K. and Australia. They have released 4 EPs, including “All My Friends”, besides dozens of singles and remixes. Several of their singles like “Cruel” are certified.
