Sir Mix-a-lot (born Anthony Ray in the United States, on August 12, 1963) is an electric music fan and hip-hop devotee. He started rapping in the early 1980s and founded the Nastymix record label in 1983 with his D.J, Nasty Nes.
D.J. Nes hosted the first hip-hop radio show in Seattle. He released his first single in 1987, which became a local hit. In 1988, he released his first LP.
Mix-a-lot ended his association with Nastymix record and D.J Nes as a result of a financial dispute. He debuted for Def American with 1992’s "Mack Daddy." His first single "One Time's Got No Case," made some waves. His biggest song was the 1992 hit song “Baby Got Back.”
The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides music, he hosted the short-lived UPN anthology drama series, "The Watcher." He repairs musician instruments as a hobby.
