Kacey Musgraves, born in Mineola, TX, is an American country musician. She has released four full-length albums, the first three of which were released independently. After placing seventh on the 2007 season of the TV show Nashville Star, she was signed to Mercury Nashville and released her major-label debut, Same Trailer Different Park, in 2013. Her first single, 2012’s “Merry Go ‘Round”, is certified Platinum and peaked at number 14 on the US Country charts. The 2013 single “Follow Your Arrow” is certified Gold and peaked at number 10 on the same chart. She has written songs for Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Lucy Hale, and Gretchen Wilson, among others, and lists Lee Ann Womack, John Prine, and Alison Krauss among her influences. Musgraves was the recipient of the CMA’s 2013 New Artist of the Year award, two Grammy awards in 2014 for Best Country Song and Best Country Album, and the 2014 ACM Album of the Year Award.
