Amel Bent is a famous French singer born on the 21st of June, 1985. Originally from Paris, France, the singer grew up in Joué-lès-Tours. The singer made her debut in early 2004, when she participated in the popular French reality television show named Nouvelle Star 2. Amel made it to the semi-finals in the French-style rendition of American Pop Idol, but didn’t make it to the finals. Regardless, she was noticed by producers of the show and released her first album later that year.

Amel’s debut album is titled Un Jour d'été. Over 200k copies were sold, but a whopping 500,000 copies of the single Ma Philosophie. This single is what ultimately put Amel on the map, landing on the number 1 spot on the France top 40 charts for over 6 weeks.

Since then, the singer has released 5 more albums, all ranking in the top 25 SNICOP of France. Only her first three albums reached platinum and her fourth Gold.
