Steven Kwan is a baseball outfielder born on 5th September 1997 in California, United States. He currently plays for the Cleveland Guardians, which competes in Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended Washington High School, where he played baseball. He later played college baseball for Oregon State University. He spent the summer with the 2018 College World Series. He helped the Beavers win a national championship. Kwan started his professional career with the Cleveland Indians after being selected in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB draft.
He spent four years in their minor league system before making the Opening Day roster in 2022. He was the sixth player since 1901 to record five hits in his first three major league games in 2022. Kwan was named Rookie of the Month in the American League in April and September 2022. During the same season, he hit his first major league home run and career grand slam. Following his rookie season, he received a Gold Glove Award for his left-field defense and was an American League Rookie of the Year finalist.
