Royal Canoe is the name of an indie pop band, originally from Winnipeg, Canada and formed in 2010. The group is made of Matt Peters, Matt Schellenberg, Bucky Driedger, Brendan Berg, Derek Allard, Michael Jordan and Jo Snyder, who are former members of the bands The Waking Eyesus, The Liptonians and TELE. They started their musical production with the release of the album “Co-Op Mode”, followed by “Today We're Believers” in 2013. That same year, Royal Canoe performed the Beck Hansen’s “Song Reader” project a performance consisting of the reading of a twenty-song book accompanied by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra New Music Festival. In 2014 they toured as the opening act for the Bombay Bicycle Club band. The singles “Exodus Of The Year” and “Bathtubs” from the album “Today We're Believers” or “Walk out on the Water” and “Living a Lie” are among their greatest hits. In 2019, they released the album “Waver”.
