Basement Gang is a dance trio formed by Nathaniel, Kadeem, and Nick. The three were friends in high school and used to dance to various songs for fun, making post-school basement dance sessions a regular affair after school. Kadeem and Nathaniel left to study kinesiology and psychology respectively in New York while Nick left for Mexico to study electrical techniques. It was during the Covid 19 pandemic that they regrouped and continued their dance sessions in the basement and posted an old dancing video in May 2020. The dance video to ‘El Beeper’ by Oro Solido went viral with a million views overnight. They then tried their hand at Bollywood and posted a dance video to the song, ‘Mundian Tu Bach Ke’ by Punjabi MC which also went viral. This led to the formation of the Basement Gang page on TikTok and they began to create sponsored videos for various clothing brands and other products.
