Tashawn Gabbidon, popularly known as Intence, was born on October 3, 1995. He is a dancehall artist based out of Tavern, St. Andrew, Jamaica. Picking up his interest for music from his father who was also a dancehall DJ, Intence continued on his own path.
After graduating from high school, he began to spend more time in the community studio recording songs. He started gaining attention after releasing his single “Jett Life.” In 2019, Intence delivered an electrifying performance at the esteemed Reggae Sumfest. While signed to his first label, Boysie Records, Intence released hit singles, “One Pants,” “Live Yuh Life,” and “Bag Gyal.”
His debut EP, ‘Wounded,’ released May 2021 under VP Records, is a critical collection of 5 singles that explore themes of inner conflict, love, and loyalty. Contributing producers to the project include Okino ‘Wav’ Thomas and Stephen Gabbidon. He is also associated with other dancehall artists including Aidonia and Iwaata.
