Alexis Jordan is a singer and actress born on 7th April 1992 in Columbia, South Carolina, United States. She rose to fame after participating in the reality television series “America’s Got Talent” in 2006. At that time, she was only 14 years old. She sang Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” in auditions, which helped her make it through to the next round. However, she was able to clear a number of rounds but was eventually eliminated in the semifinals.
The charming young girl did not give up and started uploading videos of cover songs on her YouTube channel. Luckily her efforts paid off when she gained millions of views. Her videos got the attention of the Stargate production team and Jay-Z. She later signed a recording contract and released her first single, titled “Happiness” in 2010. She released her debut self-titled album the following year. The album charted at number 9 in UK Albums Chart and number 11 on the Australian Albums Chart.
