The Virus is a Philadelphia-based street punk band from the United States, which was founded in February 1998 by vocalist Mike Virus, lead guitarist Chris, guitarist Fat Dave, drummer Jarrod, and bassist Geoff. The band played at their first concert one month after making their debut. Additionally, the band also performed a number of times throughout the first six months. They recorded two tracks in July 1998 for a split CD with The Manix from New York. Only 130 copies were printed, and they were quickly sold out. In September 1999, a local Philadelphia musician named Mike joined the band. Moreover, they gave three performances in Hollywood, Pomona, and San Diego in the final months of 2002 before calling it quits.
