Wavves is an American rock band formed in 2008 in San Diego, San Diego County, California, United States. The band was formed by San Diego native Nathan Williams when he was 21. Later he was joined by Alex Gates, Brian Hill, Jacob Cooper, Stephen Pope and Zach Hill.
Their debut LP Wavves dropped in 2008 and it was released in a limited run by Woodsist. Just after that, they released Wavvves (notice the triple ‘v’). Their first album King of the Beach soon followed the releases and was modestly successful. Life Sux, a new EP, was released in the fall of 2011 and the EP featured guest appearances from Best Coast and Fucked Up. The band then signed over to Mom + Pop and released Afraid of Heights (their fourth album) in early 2013. SV followed in July the same year.
Wavves' fifth album entitled V was dropped in October 2015 through Ghost Ramp and Warner Bros. Records.
