Aespa is a girl group band from Korea and part of the SM entertainment family. The group consists of Karina, Winter, Giselle, and NingNing. What makes Aespa different from other similar groups is the presence of online avatars for each member existing in a virtual world dubbed the FLAT. The names of the virtual members of aespa, also known as the æs, are æ-Karina, æ-Winter, æ-Giselle, and æ-NingNing. Aespa is an exploration of the concept that we now live in the real world and the virtual world. SM Entertainment CEO Lee Soo Man calls the group the future of entertainment. The group debuted on November 17, 2020, with their first single Black Mamba. The music video has received over 100 million views and topped the international charts. They released their second single, Next Level, in May 2021. In 2021, the members of the group became ambassadors for GIVENCHY.
