Hailing from Godalming, Surrey, England, Genesis is an English band that performs progressive rock and soft rock. The band was formed in 1967 by school friends from Charterhouse, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Peter Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips. The makeup of the band has changed over the years, and it currently consists of Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, and Phil Collins. Two years after the formation of Genesis, they released their debut studio project From Genesis to Revelation. Throughout the decades, the band has taken several breaks to focus on personal projects, but their reunions continue to be marked by sold-out shows and new hit singles. Their discography includes the hit singles Invisible Touch, I Can’t Dance, Land of Confusion, That’s All, Follow You Follow Me, and the albums Nursery Cryme, Invisible Touch, We Can’t Dance, and The Last Domino. Genesis won a Grammy Award for Best Concept Music Video and received four more nominations for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal and Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
