Racoon is a pop-rock band created in 1997. It’s a Dutch group that consists of band members Dennis Huige on guitar, Bart van der Weide on vocals, Paul Bukkens on Drums, and Stefan Kroon on Bass. Originally the band only consisted of Dennis and Bart, under the name Vic’tem, but the hardcore sound wasn’t to their liking and they completed their group with Paul and Stefan rebranding to Racoon.

The band’s first demo was called It’s an Ice Cream Day. But it was in 1999, that the group had their breakthrough when they performed at the Noorderslagfestival in Groningen. After the performance, the record deals started streaming in, but they decided to sign with S.M.A.R.T. label and released their debut album, Till Monkey Fly, in early 2000.

In 2005, they released their third album called Another Day with PIAS record labels. The single, Love You More, is the album’s best song and lands a number 3 spot on the Dutch Top 40 charts. In 2006, the band was given the Viewer’s Choice at the Gouden Tip. In 2017, they released another album called Look Ahead and See the Distance.
