Mia Kang is a Swiss-Korean model and Muay Thai martial artist. She was born on the 30th of December, 1988, in Hong Kong. She moved a lot growing up but she eventually went back to her natal Hong Kong to study at the Island School. While growing up, Kang was overweight and she suffered a lot of bullying from her peers. She later developed eating disorders, before stabilizing her weight. Soon after, she was scouted as a model and she began her career. She was signed to the Models 1 agency in London and she started in fashion shows around the world. In 2015, she signed with Trump Model Management and she relocated to New York. She modeled for Sports Illustrated and in 2016 she won the magazine’s Swimsuit Model of the Year. She started training in combat art Muay Thai that same year, and soon after she became a body-positivity speaker and model.
