Fisherman’s Friends is a vocal folk ensemble based in Port Isaac, Cornwall, England. The group is oriented to traditional English fishermen music lore and styles like forebitters and shanties. It started in 1995 as a local attraction, but by 2010 the band had signed with Universal and released a self-titled debut. With this material, the band quickly gained traction, while the album became a Top 10 album in the U.K. and a Gold-certified record. The band went on to make an appearance on Glastonbury. A second full-length album went out in 2013, titled “One and All”, featuring a single released as a tribute to their deceased colleague Trevor Grills. After two more studio albums titled “Proper Job” (2015) and “Sole Mates” (2018), a feature film about the band called “Fisherman’s Friends” was made in 2019. The band’s songs are also featured in another 2019 film titled “Keep Hauling”.
