Nico Muhly, born as Nico Asher Muhly, on August 26, 1981, in Randolph, Vermont, is an American contemporary classical music composer and a member of the Icelandic music collective/recording label named Bedroom Community. His family would move to Providence, Rhode Island, where Nico Muhly would sing at a church choir and start learning how to play the piano at the age of ten. He would earn his master’s degree in music at Julliard School where he would meet and start working for Philip Glass as an editor, recorder, and keyboardist. Nico Muhly has collaborated with Bjork on the DVD single Oceania in 2004. In 2006, he released his first album called Speaks Volumes and in 2008 his second album followed. Since then, Nico Muhly would release 10 more albums.
