Milky Chance is a two-piece German folk/rock band from Kassel, Germany. The members are Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch. The band is currently signed to Lichtdicht Records and has released one full-length album, 2013’s Sadnecessary. While Sadnecessary did not chart in the US, it peaked at number 5 in France, number 8 in Australia, and number 14 in Germany. Their 2013 single “Stolen Dance” reached number 54 on the US Billboard charts and number 1 on the Austrian, Belgian, French, Irish, and Swiss charts. “Stolen Dance” is also certified Gold by the RIAA. Milky Chance has been nominated in the Best Band category for the German radio 1Live Krone Awards and has received a European Border Breakers Award for 2015. Rehbein and Dausch met in an Advanced Music Course during eleventh grade.
