Formed when its members were just 16 and writing early songs in a converted vicarage, Man/Woman/Chainsaw spent 2025 turning years of hard touring into real momentum: a sold-out show at London’s Scala, a second sold-out UK tour in October, live sessions for KEXP and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, a spot among NME’s 100 Essential Emerging Artists, and a first SXSW run in Austin that put the band at the front of a new wave of UK guitar acts.
That momentum now carries into the band’s long-awaited debut album, “Cannonball,” out August 7 via Fiction Records, following a run of European dates over the past month. The 11-track record was produced by Seth Evans (Geordie Greep, Black Midi) and Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Big Joanie).
Drummer Lola Cherry has said the band originally pictured a record of nonstop intensity before leaning into quieter, more varied moments, describing early talks about “having a whole record of bangers.” The finished album blends theatrical arrangements with raw honesty, in what the band considers its sharpest songwriting yet.
The ROAM deal lands as the agency keeps building out its UK roster. ROAM recently signed London jazz-fusion act TOAST CLUB for a similar worldwide-excluding-North-America deal, brought Los Angeles duo The Rose Hips on board for global representation, and added Sunderland singer-songwriter Tom A. Smith for North American bookings.
