  • London jazz-fusion project TOAST CLUB has signed with ROAM for worldwide live music and touring representation, excluding North America.
  • Agent Sinan Ors is leading the deal.
  • The band continues with The Other Songs for management, publishing, and its record deal.
  • The signing follows debut EP Lift and single "Mean Girl," building on the breakout success of "Café Pacific," which topped one million streams and aired on Japan's NHK.

TOAST CLUB, the jazz-fusion project built around Tommy Villiers and Chuck Smythe, has signed with ROAM for live music and touring representation worldwide, excluding North America. Sinan Ors, agent at ROAM, is leading the deal.

The band emerged from London’s Windmill scene, where Villiers, one half of drum & bass duo piri & tommy, redirected his dance-music roots into a groove-driven, band-based sound alongside Smythe.

The pair have drawn comparisons to Parcels, Vulfpeck, and Steely Dan, building a loyal following through packed shows at Windmill Brixton and The Portland Arms.

Momentum has built steadily. Breakout single “Café Pacific” passed one million streams and was featured on NHK’s “Gen Hoshino and Yutaka Matsushige’s Friends” in Japan, helping the band draw crowds to a meet-and-greet in-store appearance at Tokyo’s Bonjour Records.

Follow-up single “Mean Girl” arrived in April 2026 ahead of debut EP Lift, released via The Other Songs, with whom the band continues for management, publishing, and its recording deal.

For Villiers, the signing marks a formal pivot away from piri & tommy, the duo he formed with Sophie “Piri” McBurnie in 2021.

ROAM keeps building out its UK roster in 2026. The agency recently added Tom A. Smith for North American representation, signed The Rose Hips for worldwide bookings, and brought on Squid guitarist Anton Pearson for a worldwide deal excluding North America.

Takeaways

This reads as ROAM banking on crossover potential rather than a straight jazz play. TOAST CLUB’s genre-blurring sound and existing Japan traction give the agency an act that could route through both alternative and international festival circuits, not just niche jazz bills.

It also shows Villiers’ second act taking shape on its own footing. Rather than riding piri & tommy’s name recognition, TOAST CLUB is building fresh infrastructure (new agency, same independent label), suggesting the band is being positioned as a long-term project, not a side hustle.

Keeping North America off the table for now is notable too. It leaves room for a dedicated regional deal down the line, once the band has more of a live footprint stateside.

Could TOAST CLUB’s Japan traction turn into a full Asia-Pacific touring push next? Could this be the start of ROAM building a dedicated jazz-adjacent/groove roster in the UK?
