Casio America has unveiled “Shock Yourself,” G-SHOCK’s 2026 global brand campaign, with multi-platinum rapper Lil Tecca as its face. The two-chapter cinematic rollout launched July 24, 2026, and runs across photography, digital, social, and connected TV through December 31.
In Chapter 1, Tecca plays a mad scientist forging watches meant to push a generation past the limits set for it. Chapter 2 introduces “The Resistance,” a dancer, DJ, and skater battling the odds in the fictional G-York, with each scene built around one of G-SHOCK’s core resistances: shock, gravity, and water. The campaign spotlights hero model GA2100-1A1 alongside new Bold Camo releases.
The deal marks Tecca’s first watch or accessories partnership. His only other brand ties on record are Adidas and Foot Locker, both launched in May 2025 through Foot Locker’s “Stay in Rotation” campaign. It also lands roughly a year after his fifth studio album, Dopamine, and a 2025 touring run of nearly 50 shows.
For G-SHOCK, Tecca joins a growing music-first ambassador roster. The brand named Central Cee its European brand ambassador in 2024 and tapped XG as global ambassador in 2025, recently releasing two co-designed watches with the group.
Sister brand Casio has also leaned into music this year, reuniting with J Balvin on a limited-edition ring watch. The watch-and-music pairing trend extends beyond Casio’s roster, too, with RAYE recently fronting a short film for Audemars Piguet tied to her Montreux Jazz Festival set.
Fans can follow the campaign at @gshock_us and #ShockYourself, with the full films live on G-SHOCK’s YouTube channel and campaign landing page.
Takeaways
This isn’t G-SHOCK just renting a famous face for a quarter; it’s the brand building out a genuine bench of young, culturally fluent ambassadors, from Central Cee in Europe to XG in Asia, and now Tecca for the U.S. Gen Z market.
A campaign running a full five months, backed by two cinematic chapters instead of a single ad drop, signals G-SHOCK is treating this as a long-form brand statement rather than a one-off sponsorship.
It’s also notable that Tecca, whose endorsement footprint has so far stayed tightly in footwear (Adidas, Foot Locker), is now stepping into watches and accessories for the first time. That’s a meaningful category expansion for an artist still building out his brand portfolio.
Does landing a young rapper with a fairly small endorsement resume signal G-SHOCK is betting on Tecca’s future cultural weight rather than his current one? With Central Cee, XG, and now Tecca all fronting distinct regional “Shock Yourself”-style campaigns, is G-SHOCK quietly building a global, genre-spanning ambassador network to rival luxury watch houses?
