CAA has hired Elle Skinner for its UK Creators Division, pulling in the former head of talent at Free Focus Management to build out the agency’s London-based creator business.
Skinner joins as an agent, where she will represent digital-first talent and advise creators as they grow into full-scale businesses. She spent seven years at Free Focus, rising from talent manager to head of talent, and before that started her career in TV production at Endemol.
Throughout her career, Skinner has repped creators including BBC Radio 1 presenter Alyx Holcombe, Helen Anderson, Beth Sandland, Francesca Perks, Emma Tamsin Hill, and Gabriella Lindley.
CAA agent Glenn Miller welcomed the move, saying Skinner has built an outstanding reputation for developing long-term creator careers and helping them evolve into businesses. He pointed to her experience across talent management, brand partnerships, and content as a strong fit for CAA’s growing Creators team.
Skinner’s arrival continues a busy year for the division. She joins recent hire Georgia Katz, who left management firm Mokkingbird for CAA and brought Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson along with her. Katz’s move came not long after Kendall Ostrow jumped to CAA Creators from YouTube, adding two decades of digital media experience to the team.
CAA’s UK creator roster now spans William Hanson, Fin Taylor, Max Klymenko, Fallow Chefs, Jordan North, and Vick Hope. In the US, the agency also represents creators like KSI, Dhar Mann, and Jesser.
Takeaways
This is CAA doing what it does best in a new arena; poaching the person who already knows where the bodies (and the best creators) are buried.
Skinner isn’t a name most mainstream readers will recognize yet, but inside UK creator management, hiring the head of talent from a well-regarded boutique like Free Focus is a statement hire, not a footnote.
It also confirms CAA isn’t done building. Skinner is the second major UK creator-side hire in as many months, following Georgia Katz, and it comes on the heels of Kendall Ostrow’s move from YouTube into CAA Creators in the US.
The agency is stacking its bench with people who’ve built creator businesses from the inside, not just people who’ve watched from an agency desk.
Will Skinner bring any of her Free Focus roster with her to CAA? How many more UK creator-agency hires does CAA make before rivals WME and UTA respond? As creators get “career-architected” like film stars, does that change what fans see from them day to day?
