Devon Lee Carlson is turning a decade of friendship with Frankies Bikinis into an official design credit. The line launched in early August 2026, built around butter-yellow florals like the “Cutie Pie Dress” in the Bellissima print, a matching bikini, embroidered babydoll dresses, and animal-print pieces. Kendall Jenner wore the Cutie Pie Dress to a clifftop Malibu dinner celebrating the launch alongside Carlson and Aiello.

Carlson and Aiello have been close since their teenage years, and their working history runs deep. Carlson brought Frankies Bikinis into her Wildflower Cases world for a joint capsule in 2021, then reunited with Aiello in 2022 to mark both brands’ 10-year anniversaries.

She’s also fronted Frankies Bikinis campaigns over the years, including 2024’s PINK by Frankies Bikinis push with Victoria’s Secret. “Sunshine Girls” is her most expansive, formally credited design partnership with the label yet.

Frankies Bikinis has built its business on famous friendships. The Malibu-founded brand collaborated with Bella Hadid on a three-part Western-inspired collection, and 2026 alone has brought K-pop star Jennie’s swim-to-street capsule and a second Khy by Kylie Jenner collection, “Fever Dream.” Bride-to-be Paige Lorenze joined the roster in June with “The Bikini Bride,” the label’s first bridal-inspired line.

Beyond swimwear, Carlson keeps a packed brand calendar. She’s most recently been tied to Adidas Originals and holds an ongoing relationship with Balenciaga, alongside running Wildflower Cases full-time.

Takeaways

“Sunshine Girls” is less a swimsuit drop and more Frankies Bikinis cashing in on one of its oldest, most authentic friendships, at a moment when the brand is rolling out celebrity capsules almost every month.

For Carlson, it turns years of informal loyalty into an actual design credit, adding a fashion line to a résumé already built on entrepreneurship and influence.

Does a decade-long friendship make for a more convincing collab than a one-season celebrity tie-in? With Jennie, Khy, Paige Lorenze, and now Carlson all dropping capsules in 2026, is Frankies Bikinis quietly becoming swimwear’s busiest collaborator?
