- Chappell Roan announced on Instagram on August 11 that profits from her MAC lip collection now support Oxfam International's humanitarian relief work, including aid tied to the war in Ukraine.
- The three-shade collection she co-created with MAC Cosmetics (Unnatural Red Head, Roan of Arc, and Damnsel) launched June 11 as MAC's 2026 Viva Glam campaign, giving 100% of sales to charity.
- Viva Glam has raised more than $545 million since 1994; separately, MAC donated $300,000 to Roan's own nonprofit, the Midwest Princess Project.
- Roan has been MAC's Global Brand Ambassador since December 2025 and previously fronted the brand's Sephora U.S. debut campaign in March.
Chappell Roan is giving her MAC Cosmetics lip collection a new mission. On August 11, the singer posted an Instagram Story confirming that proceeds from the line now go toward Oxfam International, a humanitarian group that delivers food, clean water, shelter, and medical care to communities in crisis, including areas affected by the war in Ukraine.
That collection is Roan’s Viva Glam collaboration with MAC, which arrived on June 11 when she stepped in as the campaign’s newest face.
The collection features a deep-cherry matte inspired by Roan’s hair, a mid-toned plum lipstick-balm hybrid, and a sheer shimmery gloss. Every sale funds Viva Glam’s charity partners, part of a program that has generated over $545 million for equality causes since 1994.
Viva Glam has raised more than $545 million for equal-rights and healthy-futures charities since launching in 1994, making it beauty’s largest philanthropic campaign. MAC also made a $300,000 donation to Roan’s foundation, the Midwest Princess Project, and its partner organizations.
This isn’t Roan’s first MAC moment of 2026. She signed on as Global Brand Ambassador in December 2025, then fronted MAC’s Sephora U.S. debut campaign in March alongside Gabbriette and Quenlin Blackwell. She now joins a Viva Glam lineup that includes RuPaul, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Kim Petras.
Roan isn’t the only star MAC activated this year; the brand also tapped Doja Cat, a MAC Global Brand Ambassador, to launch a limited-edition Gorgeous Nude Lip Kit tied to her Tour Ma Vie stage look.
On the music side, Roan is currently touring behind her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things era and has picked up two 2026 Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her single “The Subway.”
Takeaways
Tying a lip collection to Ukraine relief is a smart evolution of a deal that already had built-in goodwill. Viva Glam has always donated 100% of sales, but naming Oxfam specifically, and calling out Ukraine by name, gives the campaign a sharper, more current cause than a general “equality” mission statement.
It’s also a low-friction way for Roan, who’s been selective about which brand deals she says yes to, to keep leaning into activism without stepping outside a partnership she’s already comfortable with.
Could this Oxfam tie-in boost sales more than the original Pride-season launch did back in June? As Roan’s celebrity grows, will brands increasingly let her attach her own causes to campaigns rather than the other way around?
