Aminé, whose creative sensibilities have made every New Balance partnership feel culturally coherent rather than commercially imposed, has been a brand ambassador since 2022.

His New Balance collab history spans the NB610 “Mooz” in 2023, the NB740v2 “Benson Tech” in 2024, and the NB2000 “Biblioteca” in 2025, each rooted in his Portland upbringing.

His most recent solo album, 13 Months of Sunshine, saw the rapper weave themes of heritage, grief, and identity into a 16-track set, supported by his globe-spanning Tour de Dance run. The same creative thread runs through Grey Days, where he co-designed exclusive Striper jerseys for the campaign.

NB’s cultural ambassador work continues to expand, most recently with Action Bronson’s NB1890 Planet Frog Collection and a campaign starring NFL stars including Marvin Harrison Jr., who also appears in this year’s Grey Days lineup.

McLaughlin-Levrone, who won gold in the 400m flat and 4x400m relay at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, has been a New Balance athlete since 2018.

Currently expecting her first child, a baby girl due in July 2026, she remains active with the brand while eyeing the LA 2028 Olympics. Off the track, she also endorses Gatorade, TAG Heuer, Coca-Cola, Visa, and Oakley.

Garland, a two-time NBA All-Star who joined New Balance in November 2023 after leaving Nike, was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Clippers in February 2026.

He joins an NB basketball roster that includes Kawhi Leonard, who recently launched his own signature Kawhi V with the brand, as well as Tyrese Maxey and Jamal Murray.

Drops run throughout May, including the FuelCell Rebel v5, ABZORB 2010, ABZORB 1890, and Numeric 770, available at New Balance stores and NewBalance.com.

Takeaways

Grey Days 2026 is no longer just a sneaker drop event, it’s a full-scale cultural campaign, and New Balance knows it.

By anchoring the month around figures like Aminé (music/design), Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (sport/identity), and Darius Garland (basketball/style), the brand is making a clear statement: grey isn’t a color, it’s a language.

What’s especially sharp here is how New Balance uses its ambassadors not just as faces but as storytellers, each one bringing their own chapter to the same narrative. That’s a higher-bar approach to celebrity marketing, and it’s working. The brand has steadily built one of the most culturally credible rosters in sneakers, and Grey Days is the annual proof point.

New Balance has built a roster spanning music, track, basketball, and skateboarding, is this multi-discipline strategy the new blueprint for legacy sports brands competing with Nike and Adidas?

With Grey Days growing bigger every year, could it eventually rival Jordan Brand’s annual “Flight Nostalgia” moment as a cultural tentpole event?
