  • The move aligns her with a management company that also works with high‑profile talent, positioning her for more leading roles and development opportunities.

Karrie Martin Lachney, best known for her lead role in Netflix’s Peabody Award-nominated series Gentefied, has signed with Zero Gravity Management for theatrical and literary representation, with manager Tamer Ahsan taking the helm on her career.

Lachney, born and raised in southern Louisiana to Honduran parents, stepped into the spotlight playing Ana Morales in Gentefied, a critically acclaimed Netflix comedy-drama executive produced by America Ferrera. The show ran for two seasons before Netflix cancelled it in January 2022.

Before landing the lead role, Lachney spent years behind the scenes as a casting associate at Betty Mae Inc., contributing to major productions including Bad Boys for LifePromising Young Woman, and Creed II.

She is a true multi-hyphenate. Through her production company Southern Ave. Productions, she partnered with veteran producer Teri Weinberg (Ugly Betty, The Office) to acquire film and TV rights to Jillian Dodd’s popular That Boy book series.

She also co-owns Martin Ave, a women’s clothing brand she runs with her sister. On the representation front, Formation Talent Agency handles her agency business, while The Forward Group manages her press.

She is not alone in making high-profile rep moves this month: Felicity Huffman and Eric Stonestreet recently signed with Gersh for representation.

Takeaways

This signing is far more than a routine industry shuffle, it’s a calculated career upgrade. Lachney arrives at Zero Gravity with real leverage: a breakout lead role under her belt, an active development slate, an IP acquisition, and a business empire outside of Hollywood.

Zero Gravity has been quietly building one of the most culturally diverse rosters in the management space, and adding a Latina multi-hyphenate with both on-screen credibility and producing chops fits that strategy perfectly.

With a full four-person rep team now in place, the industry should expect Lachney’s name to appear at the top of call sheets, not just supporting ones.

Can Zero Gravity help Lachney finally land her post-Gentefied breakout film role? Is the actor-writer-producer-entrepreneur combo becoming the new minimum requirement for sustained Hollywood success?
