Hello,
I am new to this world of production and booking artists. I would like to know if you guys know how is the process working with agent or label ?
Here is what I think it could look like :
1. Asking for artist(s) booking (availability)
2. Ask for a Rider and all requirements
3. If the company or agent confirms, send an artist offer form to sign
4. Returned signed, you can send a contract (do I have to do it or does the agent has to provide it ?)
Please let me know if I did it right or if it’s usually not like that. Do I have to wait for the agent or label to send me all the requirements, contracts, or Do I have to send it myself and wait for an answer ?
Thank you !
Yes that process is mostly accurate. I would switch 3 and 2. Most agents won't send you a rider + contract + requirements until they have received your offer.
#3 - you sign the artist offer form
#4 - they send you the signed contract, and you sign your end + make deposit.
Note: there are times when you can send your own contract - this can happen for university and corporate events.
Also U.S record labels rarely ever do bookings in-house.
