I am a 17 year old school pupil, wanting to start a podcast with the very simple format of interviewing interesting people (often celebrities).
I have no profile as a podcaster or anything, so is there any way in which I can try and get a celeb to agree to an interview (other than contacting a publicist)?

Start with role actors in movies and one hit wonder style artists and work your way up.
Start small w/ people who might be answering their own social media accounts. Once you get a few interviews under your belt, you'll have a larger audience and be able to start reaching out to bigger names. People are going to want to appear on your podcast if you reach a large # of people, so work on growing your base first. How many shows have you recorded? My son (He's 16) and I are working on a Father & Son music commentary podcast, and we might be interested in some cross-promotion once you get some regular listeners.
