Richard Hawley is a British singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in Sheffield, England, in 1967. In the 1990s he succeeded as a touring and session musician for acts like Robbie Williams and All Saints and participated in the acclaimed bands Pulp and Longpigs. He made his debut as a solo artist in 2001 with an eponymous LP. A year later the full-length “Late Night Final” followed, and Hawley toured with Coldplay and Pulp in support of the release. After “Lovedges” (2003), he made two records for the Mute Label: “Coles Corner” (2005) and “Truelove’s Gutter” (2009). In 2014, Hawley’s songs were used as a soundtrack for the 2014 documentary film “Love is All”. In 2015 the artist released “Hollow Meadows”, an LP featuring the talents of Martin Simpson, Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, and Nancy Kerr. The artist also wrote the score for the feature film Funny Cow, directed by Adrian Shergold. In 2019, his tenth album “Further” went out.
