Born Jessica Ellen Cornish on March 27, 1988, Jessie J is an English singer and songwriter who first got her start penning songs for artists such as Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown. Though she performed with a girl group known as Soul Deep for a couple of years, she decided to pursue a solo career. The first single she released to the world was titled “Do It Like a Dude”, which went to #2 in the UK. She then released the very popular single “Price Tag”, which became a #1 song. Shortly thereafter, Jessie J put out her debut album entitled Who You Are in February of 2011. It became a top ten album in a variety of countries around the world. She would go on to release popular singles such as “Domino” and “LaserLight”. After working as a voice coach on the BBC One show The Voice UK, she began recording material for her second album, which was released in late 2013 and titled Alive. The next summer, she released the single “Bang Bang” with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, which achieved tremendous radio play in the United States.
