Walton Goggins is trading his usual tailoring for a set of darts. The actor stars in RIMOWA’s new campaign for the German luggage house’s limited-edition Dartboard Case, a wall-mounted aluminum cabinet built around a professional Winmau Blade X dartboard, the same equipment used by the Professional Darts Corporation.

Directed by Grégoire Dyer, the short film is set inside RIMOWA’s Cologne factory. Goggins plays a security guard working a quiet Sunday shift while following a football match involving his favorite team.

While organizing the archive, he finds an aluminum case holding a dartboard and starts throwing darts to pass the time. Each throw becomes a superstition: a bullseye means his team wins, turning the exercise into a private negotiation between control and belief.

The case itself marks a first for RIMOWA, which had never built a double-door cabinet format before. Grooved aluminum ties the exterior to the brand’s luggage lines, while polished latch locks, engraved rivets, and a black leather handle from the Classic collection complete the design.

Inside, black microfibre frames the board, and each door holds a professional dart set with RIMOWA-branded shafts and two-tone flights, stored in a leather travel pouch.

Goggins arrives at RIMOWA in the middle of a packed 2026 campaign run. He returned as the face of Paul Smith for its AW26 “Sometimes, Always, Never” collection in June and fronted GoDaddy’s “Daddy of Domains” campaign in April, arriving during a run of Emmy-nominated work on The White Lotus and Fallout.

For RIMOWA, the release continues a pattern of pairing product drops with recognizable names, following its relationship with Global Brand Ambassador Lewis Hamilton and design collaborations tied to Dior’s Kim Jones, Supreme, Off-White, and artist Daniel Arsham.

Takeaways

RIMOWA didn’t need to make a dartboard case, and that’s exactly the point. Brand extensions like this only work when they feel like a genuine expression of craft rather than a licensing grab, and pairing the launch with an actor known for playing morally layered, quietly intense characters gives the campaign a tension that a straightforward product shot never could.

Goggins doesn’t sell the case; he performs a mood, and that’s a smarter use of star power than most “hold the product and smile” endorsement work.

It also says something about where Goggins’ commercial career is headed. Between Paul Smith, GoDaddy, and now RIMOWA, he’s building a portfolio that spans tailoring, tech, and lifestyle goods, all without repeating the same on-camera persona twice.

Does a short-film campaign like this sell more suitcases, or is it really just brand storytelling for RIMOWA’s existing collector base? Is Goggins becoming the actor brands turn to when they want gravitas without losing a sense of humor?
