The campaign celebrates ambition and overcoming obstacles. Each legend worked directly with Hot Wheels designers to create a custom 1:64 die-cast model that tells their personal story.

Maluma designed a rugged Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 inspired by his Colombian roots. Supercar Blondie recreated “Lucy,” her signature yellow Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4. Lewandowski chose a high-performance 1997 Porsche 911 GT1 that matches his athletic drive. The models are available for pre-order at $25 each on Mattel Creations.

To support the launch, Hot Wheels hosted a fan pop-up in Venice, California, and donated $100,000 to Maluma’s youth arts foundation, El Arte de los Sueños.

This is the first Hot Wheels project for all three stars, who each maintain strong commercial portfolios. Maluma, who continues to perform at major international music festivals and release chart-topping Latin hits, recently showed off his fashion crossover appeal by teaming up with Ralph Lauren for new campaign.

Lewandowski, competing at the highest level of European football, continues to secure major international endorsements, recently he fronted Cherys new for family campaign alongside long-term deals with 4F and BOSS.

Meanwhile, Supercar Blondie continues expanding her automotive empire through SB Media Group and her digital auction house, SBX Cars.

For Mattel, the launch builds on a proven formula of transforming pop-culture figures into collectibles, echoing its recent Barbie collaboration with Miley Cyrus. By uniting music, creator culture, and world sports, Hot Wheels connects classic die-cast collectibles with a modern global audience.

Takeaways

Mattel’s creation of the “Class of Legends” highlights how legacy toy franchises are evolving into lifestyle and collector brands for all generations.

Instead of relying only on traditional motorsport drivers, Hot Wheels selected three distinct cultural figures: a Latin pop icon, a digital content creator, and a soccer star. This approach broadens the brand’s appeal across music fans, automotive hobbyists, and sports enthusiasts worldwide.

Co-designing specific vehicles tied to personal memories gives these miniature cars genuine storytelling value, transforming traditional toys into highly sought-after cultural memorabilia.

How will tapping creators and athletes outside traditional racing help Hot Wheels attract older collectors and lifestyle buyers? Will direct product co-creation and charitable donations become standard requirements for future celebrity toy collaborations? Which cultural industries, like gaming or cinema, will Mattel target for the next Hot Wheels Class of Legends?
