Homesense, known for offering high-quality homeware for less, has teamed up with Kelly Brook to launch ‘Barkitectural Digest,’ a new initiative inspired by the growing trend of ‘Barkitecture’—designing home interiors with pets in mind. This partnership comes as new research from Homesense reveals fascinating insights into how pet owners integrate their furry friends into their home aesthetics.
🔍 Research Insights: According to the study involving 2,000 cat and dog owners across the UK, nearly half (46 percent) have considered their pets while designing their homes. Interestingly, 20 percent of pet owners said they would not purchase an item for their pet if it did not match their home’s interior style. This highlights the importance of aesthetics in pet-related purchases.
🐶🐱 Barkitecture on the Rise: The concept of ‘Barkitecture’ is gaining momentum, with 26 percent of respondents stating that they carefully consider the visual appeal of pet products before purchasing. The trend encompasses everything from stylish pet beds to chic scratch posts and elegant litter trays.
🏡 Pets in Home Design: The research also discovered that 61 percent of pet owners have dedicated a specific room or garden space exclusively for their pets. However, despite the popularity of integrating pet-friendly designs, more than a third (38 percent) of pet owners expressed a need for more inspiration on how to decorate with their pets in mind.
Kelly Brook’s collaboration with Homesense for ‘Barkitectural Digest’ aims to fill this gap by providing creative and stylish solutions for pet owners looking to harmonize their home decor with their pets’ needs. This initiative promises to blend functionality with style, ensuring that both pets and their owners enjoy a beautifully designed living space.
