  • Isaiah Thomas has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) and Klutch Sports Group for brand partnerships representation.

  • Thomas remains a scout for the Boston Celtics and continues building Slow Grind Media, his athlete-driven storytelling platform.

Isaiah Thomas, the two-time NBA All-Star who became one of the most beloved guards in Boston Celtics history, has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) and Klutch Sports Group for brand partnerships representation.

Klutch has operated under UTA’s umbrella since UTA acquired a stake in the agency in 2019, and the two will jointly grow Thomas’s presence in brand partnerships, media and broadcasting, speaking engagements, executive leadership, and additional business ventures.

Thomas, the 60th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of the University of Washington, became a star during his three seasons in Boston, earning All-Star selections in 2016 and 2017 and a second-team All-NBA nod in 2016-17, when he averaged a career-high 28.9 points per game and finished fifth in MVP voting.

A hip injury derailed his 2017 playoff run, and he was traded to Cleveland that summer in the deal that brought Kyrie Irving to Boston. He went on to play for eight more franchises before ending his playing career with the Phoenix Suns in 2024.

Thomas has since rejoined the Celtics as a professional and collegiate scout, working alongside the front office and covering his home region of Seattle.

Off the court, he continues building Slow Grind Media, his platform for authentic storytelling and athlete-driven content, and remains under manager T.J. Regan for business management.

Thomas joins a growing list of athletes turning to Klutch and UTA for off-court representation. Utah Jazz guard Isaiah Collier signed with Klutch Sports Group earlier this year, and rookie forward Ace Bailey followed in May.

On UTA’s side, Shareef O’Neal signed for digital representation, part of the agency’s broader push into media, business ventures, and entrepreneurship for athletes off the field.

Takeaways

This isn’t a comeback story; it’s a second act. Thomas has already reinvented himself once this year by stepping into scouting with the Celtics, and now he’s building the business infrastructure to match.

Pairing UTA’s media and broadcasting muscle with Klutch’s basketball-world credibility gives him a team built for someone angling toward executive roles, TV analyst work, and brand deals all at once, rather than just chasing one lane.

It also says something about how far athlete representation has drifted from pure playing-career negotiation. Thomas isn’t under contract with any NBA team right now; this deal is entirely about what comes after playing, which is where UTA and Klutch have both been investing heavily.

Does this signing signal that Thomas is positioning himself for a broadcasting career, an executive path, or both? Could Slow Grind Media eventually plug into UTA’s media division for distribution or content partnerships?
