David Jonsson Named Brand Ambassador for Loewe

Celebrity Name:David Jonsson
Brand:Loewe
Deal Type:Global Brand Ambassador
Announced:July 22, 2026
  • Loewe named British actor David Jonsson its newest brand ambassador on July 22, 2026, under the creative direction of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.
  • He joins a growing roster that includes Isla Johnston (named February 2026) and Julia Garner (named global ambassador in March 2026).
  • Jonsson is coming off the 2025 BAFTA Rising Star Award for Alien: Romulus and has The Chaperones, Frank Ocean's directorial debut, and Please on the way.
  • The role formalizes an existing relationship: Jonsson has worn Loewe on red carpets for years, and sits alongside his separate ambassadorship with Cartier.

Loewe has named British actor David Jonsson as its newest brand ambassador, one of the first appointments since Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez took over creative direction of Loewe from Jonathan Anderson.

“Film has always fascinated me… I feel deeply connected to the spirit of Loewe. It’s a playground,” Jonsson said of the role. McCollough and Hernandez described his acting as “attentive, exploratory, unafraid of complexity.”

Jonsson broke out in Rye Lane (2023) and Alien: Romulus (2024), the latter earning him the 2025 BAFTA Rising Star Award. He’s also appeared in Stephen King’s The Long Walk and HBO’s Industry, and co-hosted the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards nominations announcement alongside Aimee Lou Wood. Next up: A24’s The Chaperones, Frank Ocean’s directorial debut, and Halina Reijn’s Please.

He joins a fast-expanding Loewe lineup that includes Julia Garner, named the house’s global ambassador in March after leaving Gucci, and Isla Johnston, the design duo’s first pick. Garner went on to front Loewe’s star-studded 180th anniversary campaign in June alongside Antonio Banderas and aespa’s Giselle. Daniel Craig has also endorsed Loewe since July 2024.

For Jonsson, this isn’t new territory; he’s worn the brand for years, and the ambassadorship formalizes that. He’s also a Cartier ambassador, a partnership he’s called deeply personal given his family’s own history with the jeweler.

Takeaways

McCollough and Hernandez keep picking actors with real career heat rather than pure red-carpet wattage; Jonsson, Johnston and Garner are all mid-surge, not just photogenic. It also reads as a “make it official” move: Loewe isn’t introducing a new face so much as locking in one it already had informally.

And Jonsson himself isn’t putting all his eggs in one luxury basket; running a Cartier ambassadorship alongside this Loewe deal puts him in the same multi-house-endorsement territory as more established A-listers, well ahead of a typical career stage for that.

Is Loewe quietly assembling a “class” of young Brits to define its new creative era? Does holding both Cartier and Loewe ambassadorships change how audiences read Jonsson’s personal style identity?
