Gatorade officially relaunched its iconic “Is It In You?” platform on April 23, 2026, unveiling a new global football campaign, “Trust What’s Inside.”

The PepsiCo-owned brand tapped Christian Pulisic, Vinícius Júnior, Julián Álvarez, Luis Díaz, Tajon Buchanan, and Gilberto Mora for a hero film showcasing each star’s signature move alongside youth athletes grinding to perfect their craft.

Narrated by decorated football legend Clint Dempsey, the film is scored with “Beto’s Horns” by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Fred Again.., and Ezra Collective. Agency TBWA\Chiat\Day LA and Springtime handled the creative.

Pulisic, a long-time Gatorade partner who also signed with Puma in August 2025, credited the brand for fueling him since his youth days.

Álvarez, who sealed a club-record €95 million move to Atlético Madrid in 2024 after winning the 2022 World Cup and a Champions League treble with Manchester City, called the campaign recognition of real hard work over shortcuts.

Vini Jr., who also appears in a Rexona FIFA World Cup 2026 film alongside Pulisic and Cole Palmer, adds further marquee appeal. The Brazilian winger, backed by an endorsement portfolio that includes Nike, Pepsi, and BOSS, is one of football’s most commercially active stars right now.

Gatorade has previously featured Messi and Neymar in global football campaigns. Now, with the GSSI supporting national teams across multiple continents, and data showing players lose 1–2 liters of fluid per match, the brand is doubling down on performance science.

Beyond the film, the campaign runs across social, digital, OOH, and a limited-edition apparel collab. Vini Jr. is also fronting World Cup campaigns for Marriott Bonvoy and Visa alongside Erling Haaland.

Takeaways

Gatorade’s timing here is deliberate and smart. Bringing back “Is It In You?,” one of sports marketing’s most recognizable slogans, right before the FIFA World Cup lands on home soil (U.S., Canada, Mexico) is a high-stakes play to own the hydration conversation during the most-watched sporting event on the planet.

By anchoring the campaign in actual sports science rather than just celebrity glamour, Gatorade differentiates itself: this isn’t just an athlete photoshoot, it’s a science-backed performance narrative.

The trio of Pulisic, Vini Jr., and Álvarez is no accident either. They represent three massive football markets (the U.S., Brazil, and Argentina) covering enormous commercial ground in a World Cup year.

And the fact that all three are pulling double-duty across multiple brand campaigns (Rexona, Marriott, Puma, Nike) shows just how much the pre-World Cup endorsement market is heating up.

Does bringing back a legacy slogan like “Is It In You?” give Gatorade a competitive edge over newer sports hydration brands targeting Gen Z? How does this campaign shift Gatorade’s global football positioning now that Messi and Neymar are no longer on its roster?
